Nicole Peltz Beckham is proving she's a triple threat both behind and the front of the camera in her brand new film, Lola, and it's unlike anything you've seen from her.

Cosmopolitan has an exclusive first look at Nicola's upcoming film which features her as writer, director, and star. Nicola stars as the title character as she navigates life while trying to help raise her non-binary sibling, try to get away from her mother, and find her own way in life.

Virginia Madsen and Nicola play the mother-daughter duo at the center of the film and you can see their relationship is definitely not the best in the exclusive clip you can check out above.

They co-star with Trevor Long, Luke David Blumm, Raven Goodwin, Richie Merritt. Nicola recently revealed that one of the characters is based off of one of her IRL BFFs, so there's also an added personal touch to the story which Nicola previously admitted is one of the scary parts of putting a project like this out there.

"I would be sad if people didn’t like it. Because on Instagram, you post things, and then the comments…if someone calls me mean or something and they don’t know me, then I’m just like, okay, well, maybe if you did, you wouldn’t say that. But I think when you work so hard on something and then you put it out there, it’s super scary because it’s so personal," she told Cosmopolitan in 2023

You can check out the official poster below and yes, we dare you to count all the times Nicola's name appears thanks to all the many hats she wore on set.

According to a recent Instagram post, Nicola noted that this film has been six years in the making. Just last year she was starting to put the finishing touches all together on the film. And even though she wrote and directed Lola, it was still an unexpected journey for her.

"I only ever wanted to act. And then maybe in the far, far, far future, direct. But writing was something I just did privately. The way I get in character for a role is to journal as my character, and I realized I loved it. This story was kind of living in my brain, but I never knew how to write a script," she said. "And I’m really not good with the computer; I write everything by hand. But I typed this up and emailed it to my acting coach. She loved it, and my agent at the time loved it. I was not planning to direct it, but that’s what happened. It was wild."

Fans can finally check out Lola when it releases on February 9, 2024 in theaters and video on demand.
